Mission & Values
We are dedicated to provide aid and assistance to disabled and indigent members and their families, and to promote the welfare of the fire service within the Setauket Fire District and it's contracted territories.
Founded over 60 years ago, in 1961, the Setauket Volunteer Firemen's Benevolent Association Inc. was formed for 3 distinct purposes:
- For the promotion of brotherly and sisterly relations amongst the members of the Setauket Volunteer Firemen's Benevolent Association.
- The relief, aid, and assistance of such members and their families who are disabled or indigent.
- The promotion of the welfare of the volunteer fire service within the Setauket Fire District and any territory or areas provided with fire protection by contract with such fire district.
Our Board
The members of our board of directors are thought leaders who have made a significant contribution to our society. Each and every one of them brings a unique set of skills and expertise to our organization.
Anthony Parlatore, President
Tony joined the Executive Board of the SVFBA for a 5-year term, in April 2020. Tony brings with him over 30 years in the Setauket Fire Department and over 50 years as an attorney in the Setauket area.
William Rohr, Vice President
Bill joined the Executive Board of the SVFBA in June 2020 and was subsequently elected to a 5-year term in 2021. Bill brings with him over 24 years in the Setauket Fire Department and 28 years in the FDNY, and holds the rank of Ex-Chief of Setauket.
Rich Leute, Treasurer
Rich joined the Executive Board of the SVFBA in April 2024, elected to a 5-year term. He joined the Setauket Fire Department in 1987 and currently holds the rank of Ex-Chief. Rich was Chief of Department 1999 - 2000 and 2022 - 2023 and Commissioner from 2002 - 2012
Dave Walters, Trustee
Dave joined the Executive Board of the SVFBA for a 5-year term, in April 2022. Dave brings with him over 20 years in the Setauket Fire Department and over 10 years as a Chief Technology Officer in his professional life.
